In short
Lexorbit helps you learn words from YouTube videos. To do that, we store the words you save and your progress. We don't show ads, we don't sell your data, and we don't use third-party tools for advertising or tracking.
Data controller
Lexorbit is operated by Kerem Yiğit Elbasan. For questions and requests: destek@lexorbit.app
What data do we process?
- Account: the app creates a random guest ID on first launch. If you link your account with Apple, Google, or email, we store your email address and that account's ID. With Apple's "Hide My Email" option, we only see Apple's relay address.
- Learning data: native language, level, interests, daily goal, and word test result; the words you save and the sentence and video they appear in; your review history, units you've completed, daily study time, and activity counts.
- Usage counter: your daily AI explanation count (for the plan limit).
- Subtitle submission: the mobile app may fetch a video's public subtitles from YouTube and send them to our server. Subtitles are shared with other users; to prevent abuse, we store a short digest derived from the submitting account and IP address, but not the IP address itself.
- Subscription: your plan and its end date. Apple or Google processes the payment; we never see your card details.
- Stays only on your device: sound and theme settings, reminder time, game scores, tips.
We don't collect location, contacts, photos, microphone, or advertising ID.
Why do we process it?
- To provide the service: your word list, your review calendar, syncing your account across devices (KVKK art. 5/2-c, performance of a contract).
- Personalization: target words based on your level and your video comprehension rate.
- Plan limits and subscription management.
- Security and preventing abuse (KVKK art. 5/2-f, legitimate interest).
AI
When you tap "What does it mean in this sentence?" or open the daily reading, the word, the text of that line, your native language, and your level/interest info are sent to Anthropic's Claude model. Your name, email, or account ID are not sent. Under Anthropic's commercial terms, this data is not used for model training.
The answer you write in "What did you understand?" is sent to the Claude model along with that video's subtitles for evaluation. Your answer and the score/feedback you get are stored in your account, shown only to you, and deleted when you delete your account.
Explanations generated for video lines are stored and may be shown to other users who ask about the same line. The daily reading is shown only to you.
Service providers and transfers abroad
- Supabase: database and server (Frankfurt, Germany).
- Anthropic: AI explanations (USA).
- RevenueCat: abonelik durumu (ABD).
- Apple and Google: sign-in, payment, and notification infrastructure.
Since these providers are outside Turkey, data is transferred abroad. Transfers are made only as far as necessary to provide the service, and with the safeguards in the providers' data processing agreements.
Videos are played with YouTube's official embedded player. The player may use cookies and collect data under YouTube's own rules. Since we use YouTube API Services, the YouTube Terms of Service and the Google Privacy Policy also apply:
Notifications
If you turn on the reminder, notifications are scheduled on your device. Our server doesn't store any notification ID. You can turn it off in Profile > Reminder or in your phone settings.
How long do we keep it?
As long as your account stays open. If you delete your account, your personal data is deleted right away; it's removed from system backups within 30 days at most. Guest accounts that go unused for a long time may be deleted.
Your rights
Under KVKK art. 11 and GDPR, you have the right to access, correct, and delete your data, object to its processing, and port your data.
- You can delete your account and all your data in the app: Profile > Account > Delete my account.
- For other requests, write to destek@lexorbit.app; we'll reply within 30 days at most.
- You also have the right to file a complaint with the Personal Data Protection Authority.
Children
Lexorbit isn't designed for children under 13. We delete accounts we learn belong to someone under 13.
Changes
We may update this text. We'll announce important changes in the app. The last update date is at the top of the page.
